'Dark Shadows' Trailer & Poster: Burton & Depp Team Up Once More To See How Wacky They Can Go!

After quite a long wait, the trailer for Tim Burton's Dark Shadows has been revealed to the world. Based on the 1966-1971 TV Series of the same name, Dark Shadows chronicles the tribulations of vampire Barnabas Collins who, after being freed from imprisonment induced by the curse of a witch, returns to his family home. Except, instead of 1752, the year is now 1972...

The show was described as a "gothic soap opera", and I can see why. It's campy, kitschy and crazy the way only Tim Burton can do it. I've grown tired of Burton and Depp's constant collaborative rehashing of older material, but this time I'm pretty excited, because although I don't think Burton's distinct style suits a Roald Dahl children's book, it's perfect for 1970's Gothic Soap Opera! Check out the trailer and the poster after the jump.
