While We Wait For Cinema2011...

If you've checked out this blog before, you will know that I am a fan of the various clips cut together by Kees van Dijkhuizen. In particular, I am a huge admirer of Cinema2010, a 6 minute (give or take) clip showcasing the best in film last year. It was marvellous. I cannot wait for Cinema2011, which I believe hits on December 21st. In the mean time, it appears that deconstructing and reassembling the year in film has become a bit of a fashion among amateur editors. So, to tide you over while you wait for Kees to unleash the beast, here is one called "The 2011 Portfolio" by a user simply referred to as "hatinhand" (or, Alex, if you will). It's good, but it's not Kees van Dijkhuizen. Cinema2010 was somehow infused with an emotional arc in some bizarre sense of the concept. Awesome.

And here is a list of the clips. Oh, one thing I will say is that I love that this guy has used some music from this year's films in the clip.

And while I'm at it, here is another one of these clips as well. I remember it from last year - called Filmography 2011 (by Gen I). I think the editing is a little better than the clip above, but I wasn't a big fan of the music. Enjoy! The best thing about this montages is that they remind me just how much I love movies...
