Terrence Malick is Busy Filming Something With Christian Bale...
Terrence Malick is a renowned recluse. It has been years since a photo of him was last published (seriously, he never appears in public and his film productions are always secretive). Not only that, but he has made only 5 movies in the last 4 decades! He started with Badlands, then Days of Heaven, took a break for 20 odd years and then made The Thin Red Line, followed by The New World a number of years later, and then the Tree of Life this year (which, incidentally, gestated for about 3 years after filming). So, he can hardly be described as prolific.
That being said, it seems the acclaimed director has entered a phase of creative madness. Since the release of the Tree of Life, he has wrapped (I think) filming on a film rumoured to be called The Burial, starring Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Javier Bardem, Rachel Weisz, Barry Pepper and Olga Kurylenko. It is described as being a love story, and even more experimental than Tree of Life. The pic above is from that film.
As if that is not enough, Malick was recently spotted filming at the Austin City Limits Music Festival with none other than Christian Bale! Hit the jump for more, because not only did people get pictures, they got a video too! That is a rare treat for any Malick fan.
Check out these images and the video (via Collider)... pretty damn cool if you ask me. Any movie with Christian Bale and Terrence Malick has my fullest attention! There have been some rumours about this for a short while, but I don't think anybody was expecting to see filming so soon (or at all).
And here is the video (thanks to the guy who filmed it: Johnny Garcia). Click on his name if you cannot play the video directly...
There should be a caveat in here somewhere. First, he may only have been taking some test footage above. Second, we know how long he can sit on a movie. But hells who cares, he has two projects in the pipeline, and that gets me psyched!
